5. What have you gotten out of being a member at Just Fitness that you weren’t expecting?
Two things; knowledge about fitness, my own body and the things I can accomplish if I set my mind to it, and lasting friendships and camaraderie.  You don’t just work out with these people.  You find people that you share your goals with, your successes and injuries with, your nutrition and fitness ups and downs with.  We’ve laughed and cried and commiserated together.  We’ve had competitions and bets with each other.  We’ve literally shed blood, sweat and tears… together.  And when I don’t show up for a while I get texts and calls from the coaches and members reminding me to get my ass back there because we look out for each other.

6. What were your 2016 goals and did you meet them?
I had shoulder surgery at the end of 2015 so I spent 2016 rehabbing it. A lot of this was done with the help of Just Fitness coaches, and when I did make it to a class to workout, they were able to modify any movements that I needed to mod due to my post-surgery restrictions.

7. What are your 2017 goals?
 I don’t have any specific goals other than to continue to challenge myself in ways I never thought I would.

1. When did you join Just Fitness?
I started at Just Fitness May 2013​.

2. Why did you join Just Fitness?
I wanted to challenge myself and I had heard the programming at JF was different than the other gyms in town, and more than challenging.  I liked that there was a focus on high intensity interval training and weight lifting – both of which I wanted to do more of.​

3. What programs have you done at Just Fitness?
The Warrior Built class. ​

4. What results have you seen because of joining Just Fitness?
That’s a list!  I’ve learned so much!  I’ve had physical gains such as personal best lifts in weight lifting, which means I’ve gained strength and muscle mass.  I’ve trained my body to do things I never thought I would do – pull ups, hand stand push ups, double-unders and box jumps.   I’ve gotten faster and leaner and improved my cardiovascular fitness.  I’ve learned so much about strength, fitness and mobility.

8. What is your favourite workout?
Ha.  Well if I’m being honest it would be any workouts I’ve ever made the board on.  This is a hard question – I can tell you the workouts I HATE much easier than the ones I like.

9. What is your favourite “treat” meal?
Anything with cheese and sugar.​

10. Do you have a motivational message for others?
There are lots of inspirational quotes out there, but if I were to give one piece of advice, it would be to find the tiniest belief within yourself… find it and let it to guide you through the door.​
